We are so excited to welcome you to Mount Sterling, Kentucky!  One of the 100 Best Communities for Young People for the third consecutive time!

Montgomery County is nestled between the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and the Kentucky Bluegrass Region.  Whether you visit us for a day, a weekend, or a week you’ll be sure to feel right at home.  You’ll fall in love with our charming historical downtown, art gallery, unique gift shops, and restaurants.

After you play a round of golf at Old Silo, one of Kentucky’s Best Public Golf Courses, be sure to take a tour of the Ruth Hunt Candy factory-the official candy of Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby®.  Absolutely no trip would be complete without their very famous “Blue Monday” candy bar, pulled cream candy, or even their unforgettable bourbon balls.

While the entire year is filled with great events in Mount Sterling, the summer and fall are definitely jammed packed with fun activities for people of all ages!  Take individual or group personalized tours of Bramble Ridge Apple Orchard, home of Kentucky’s largest apple slingshot; and Two Sister’s Pumpkin Patch, where a hayride can take you to pick your own one-of a-kind pumpkin during the month of October.

Last but certainly not least, be sure to visit us for our BIGGEST event of the year…..October Court Day.  Court Day is one of Kentucky’s oldest traditional festivals in downtown Mount Sterling.  Every year, you can count on vendors from all over the country traveling here to buy, sell, or trade anything and everything on the weekend of the 3rd Monday in October.  It is unbelievable how many thousands of people travel to Mount Sterling to enjoy their three day weekend.  It truly is something you have to do at least ONCE in your life!

It is our greatest pleasure to welcome you to Mount Sterling and Montgomery County, Kentucky.
