The Small Town America Festival is entering into its fifth year in Mt. Sterling.  Held on  August 20th this year and offers something for the entire family.  Start off with the 5K Race/Walk on Saturday morning at Old Silo Golf Course.  Afterward, take a trip down memory lane at the Special Olympics Car Show, participate in the Cornhole Tournament or shop at the Arts and Crafts Festival at the Courthouse Square.  The Small Town America Talent Showcase is fun entertainment and gives one lucky winner a chance to record their first hit in a professional recording studio!

The Small Town America Weekend began with a song written by Mt. Sterling native, Jeff Vice called “Small Town America” in 2007 about growing up in a small town.  A portion of the song and music video focuses on the last local football program at the High School in 1976.  The music video shows scenes of the Old Trojan High School in downtown Mt. Sterling, which has long been vacant and in deteriorating condition.   It’s a touching tribute to Mt.
